Loft Insulation Services

Loft

Approximately 25% of heat loss in a home is through it’s roof.  Loft insulation can be installed in the joists or the rafters of your loft.  Either way, both reduce the transfer of heat from your living space to the outside, creating a warmer home in the winter and a cooler home in the summer months.

How is the work carried out?

For insulating your loft we use rolls of mineral wool insulation. We use a layering technique to reduce the transfer of heat from your home through the roof. The first layer is laid between the joists, the horizontal beams that make up the floor of the loft then another layer is laid at right angles to cover the joists which takes the insulation up to the required depth.

The Benefits

Under the ECO scheme you could qualify for full or part funding for loft insulation

Making your home more energy efficient won't just make it a warmer, more comfortable place to live, it can also improve its value

Reducing your carbon footprint could lead to lowering your energy bills whilst being kinder to the planet

Loft insulation will keep your home warmer in the winter months and cooler during the summer months, making your home more comfortable all year round

If your loft is easy to access and has no damp or condensation problems, it should be easy to insulate

Room & Roof Insulation

Room in Roof

It is often the case that loft conversions, or rooms in the roof of homes, are inadequately insulated compared to today’s standard or haven’t been insulated at all.  Poor or no insulation will cause the room to be too cold in the winter and uncomfortably warm in the summer, so an upgrade could not only save you money on energy bills, but also make the attic room significantly more comfortable.

How is the work carried out?

If your loft has been converted, but has inadequate or no insulation then you may require room in roof insulation. This type of insulation won’t be visible, it’s inserted between the rafters behind walls or plasterboard. Installing this insulation it helps regulate the heat of your loft space, making it a more comfortable space the whole year round.

Insulation Price Guide

We recently had our loft insulated on one of the hottest days of the year so far. The two guys that came to complete the work were very friendly and polite. They finished the work quickly, without complaint, explaining everything clearly and checked to make sure we were happy. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Thank you!
